Aizaz beat hundreds of eager young people to win the one-of-a-kind work experience placement. Renaee Oduro from Brixton was mentored by Sky Sports' Billy McGinty as a TV producer on national T dodge V and can be seen completing a challenge set by McGinty on the show.

Grace Copley from Leicestershiore was mentored by Lynn Walker, the business manager for Ipswich Town FC, shadowing her for the day as she 'mee alfa romeo ts and greets' important commerical partners. Grace was even given the responsibility of presenting competion winners with their prize in front of a stadium full of fans on the pitch at half time.

Luke Harris, a dedicated QPR fan from Kent, was mentored by the team's manager, Neil Warnock, as he steered the team into the premiership at Loftus Road. Luke was also given access to the QPR training ground where he was invited to lunch with Neil and took the opportunity to grill him on what it's like to be a 'Marmite manager'.

Ollie Mard buick en, also from Kent, spent time with Sky Sports' David Jones. As part of his mentoring session, Ollie travelled to Portsmouth where he spent the day in an outside broadcast studio at Fratton Park, learning how to research facts and stats under the guidance of David before the game took place as well as writing and presenting his very own piece to camera.

Church Installs Solar Panels With Eye on the Future

Trinity United Church plans to harness the sun's power to help generate funding for its ministry programs. The church had 54 solar panels installed last week by Arcadian Projects and expects to be connected to the electricity grid by the end of the month. "Our youth program is really expanding," explained Miles Schwindt. "We're getting a lot more kids and we're having different events going on and that's getting bigger — and you need money to pay for it." Schwindt and another church member, Chris Moore, attended an information session about solar power projects earlier this year. The church began the application process through the Ontario microFIT (Feed-in Tariff) program in March. It had approval from Ontario Hydro by the end of May and things fell into place to fund the project. "We were very lucky. We were able to get financing through the United Church of Canada," says Schwindt. Through the microFIT program, Ontario residents and businesses can be paid for generating green energy from renewable sources. According to the Ontario Power Authority, the Feed-In Tariff program is North America's first guaranteed pricing structure for renewable electricity production. "Everything produced is sold to Ontario Hydro," said Schwindt. That energy goes in the electricity distribution system, often referred to as the grid. Along with solar, the microFIT program pays for energy produced from biomass, biogas, landfill gas, on-shore wind and waterpower projects. The up-front cost to install solar panels at Trinity United is estimated to be about $65,000 plus HST. "In six-and-a-half or seven-and-a-half years it should be paid back," says Schwindt. "We're hoping to get around $10,000 a year in revenue from it. And really, other than paying back the loans, there aren't any expenses." Once hooked up, the church will be paid cadillac a fixed rate of 80.2 cents per kilowatt hour as part of a 20-year contract. The solar panels, which can be seen from Arthur Street North, cover most of the roof area on the south face of the church's education wing. The steep roof over the sanctuary was unsuitable. "The sun has to hit the solar panel at a bmw 90 degree angle as best it can," said Schwindt. Before the project went ahead, the congregation had questions about financing and the possibility of installing solar panels on a steel roof. "We were fortunate we had a steel roof," said Schwindt. "We didn't have to replace the roof. If you're going to do that on a shingled roof, you are going to have to include the cost of shingling your roof first, then putting the solar panels on." Now, just five years on, Paine has proclaimed the rebirth of the electric car in the sequel Revenge Of The Electric Car.

In the new film, electric vehicles, such as the Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf and Tesla Roadster, are returning to production after being scrapped just a few years ago. Paine – who owns all three of these cars - took a gamble when he began filming that the cars would all sell successfully. And he was proved right. Numbers show more women making own auto repairs

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 14, 2011 - Most everyone has seen it before, a pair of legs protruding from under a car as a do-it-yourself mechanic makes a repair in the parking lot of parts store.

The legs sway back and forth as the person tugs on bolts that likely have not been touched in several years.

Such was the scene at a mechanics last week as patrons took note of a person, most likely a teenage boy they thought, reaching for tools working to replace a part on the underside of a 1990 Ford Probe.

Imagine their surprise when the car owner emerged, hands covered in grease and grime, to wipe the sweat off her face.

Elle Hart ni ssan GTR specification waited a week for a friend to swap out the starter on her car that had been sitting in the business' parking lot along Palm Coast Parkway. When that promise fell through, she decided to do it herself.

"The garage has been very good to me to let my car sit here that long," Hart said. "I thought, 'Let me get it out of here today.' "

Hart bought the car for $500 about a year ago. A new starter cost $117 and the store rebates $30 if the old starter is returned at the counter.

In order to dodge the cost of mechanic labor, Hart decided to make this repair herself. She was dropped off at the auto parts store with a large tool chest, a blanket and a cup of coffee.

This was no shade tree mechanic job. Hart worked in the sun in 90-plus degree heat.

"I'm doing it out of desperation, but I have worked my cars in the past," she said.

Over the years, the 39-year-old substance abuse counselor has replaced head gaskets, valve covers, water pumps and brakes. She has received no formal training.

"I buy illustrated manuals," she said. "I couldn't find one for a 1990 Ford Probe so I'm winging it a little bit.

"I have been given a lot of advice, for example, to be sure to disconnect the negative battery cable before I started doing anything with the starter."

According to drive.com, the number of do-it-yourself-ers, or DIYers for short, among women is on the rise. Females are now responsible for performing maintenance in one-third of all DIY households, according to the website, citing a report by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association.

"Since 1994, the percentage of DIY households with female DIYers has increased from 27 percent to 34 percent," drive.com says in a feature on the subject.

Jason Allen, Advance Auto Parts general manager, backs up those stats with the growing number of female customers in his store.

"I wasn't surprised at all," Allen said. "I don't stereotype females and males. We have tons of females who shop here and do just as much, if not more, work on their own cars."

It took Hart about 1 1/2 hours to remove the old starter from her car. One bolt was so difficult to remove, Hart said she had to use her foot to push on the wrench.

Once the defective part was extracted, it took Hart less than an hour to install the new starter.

Allen and his emplo automobile news yees offered advice and would have assisted if Hart had needed more help.

"We are here to go above and beyond, do whatever we can, to help out our customers," he said. "If she asked, we would do the best we could do to help her in whatever way we could."

Hart is the consummate DIY mechanic.

"I don't think I'm like most women -- I like the challenge," she said. "I had to go into the parts store and ask them about it and found out I had to splice some wires to get the new starter in.

"I asked them, 'Will I be electrocuted?' And they told me, 'No, that shouldn't happen.' As long as I have no fear of bei goverment technology ng harmed, I'll try anything like this."

Hart, the counselor, teacher and go-getter, then offered these words of advice to women tempted to get their hands dirt android application y.

"I would tell other women, 'Just do it,' " she said. "Don't be afraid. Fear is what keeps us from accomplishing anything."

Less than three hours after arriving at the parking lot, Hart was back on the road.

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 10, 2011 - Ok, I've never actually been in the cockpit of a Space Shuttle at launch time.  However, I have had the pleasure of driving the new 2012 Hyundai Genesis R-Spec Sedan with the Tau 5.0L V-8 engine that produces 429 horsepower and 376 lb-feet of torque.  And, after my initial test flight (drive), I would say that th automobile news e Genesis R-Spec http://www.gartnerhyundai.com/hyundai-genesis is probably a close second to a space shuttle launch, and quite possibly a step above a roller coaster in terms of speed and power.

All kidding aside, though, the Genesis R-Spec is definitely a joy to drive. The R-Spec provides a nice balance between the smooth, soft ride of a Luxury Sedan and that of a performance based vehicle, whether that car be a coupe or sedan.   The Genesis sedan, with all 429 horses, delivers Power (yes a capital P) whenever the driver demands.  0-60mph, 35-55 mph, or for those speed demons, 65mph to "Infinity and Beyond"....  OK, maybe a slight exageration on the last one, but oh well, just trying to get a point across.  

Contrastly, even though the R-Spec delivers more than ample power, this luxury sedan from Hyundai hasn't forgotten its roots. The overall ride of the Genesis R-Spec is right on par (if not above) with the competition.  When driving at a normal pace, the Genesis seems to glide seemlessly over the road, exterior noise is virtually non-existent, and the driver and passenger seats literally welcome its occupants like a concierge at a 5-star hotel.

I think Warren Bush of the Washington Post summed the Genesis R-Spec up best.  "The car speaks for itself.  It moves you - quickly, smoothly, minus all of the macho-boy exhaust noises some manufacturers find mandatory in the production of performance automobiles."

He also exclaimed, "The overall Genesis R-Spec package is well worth the price -- lots of power exquisitively delivered, deft handling that rivals anything in its class, a beautifully appointed passenger cabin of supple leather and wood-grain accents gifted with every conceivable electronic amenity, all at a base price under $50,000.  That's remarkable, simply remarkable."

The Genesis R-Spec truly is one stop luxury performance shopping.  Not like other manufacturers (who shall remain nameless) that offer a performance luxury sedan that starts out under $50K, but by the time one adds all the "Must Have/Most Wanted" items, the true sticker totals over $60,000 plus.So, if luxury means more about the way an automobile drives, performs, feels, etc., teamed with the amenities said vehicle has to offer, versus the emblem on the hood, take the Genesis R-Spec out for a spin.  You won't be disapointed.
